SKAM Terms of Service
Effective October 27, 2026. Version 2026-10-27.
Service operator: Foshchan Yevheniy, Chișinău, Moldova. Support: skammessenger@gmail.com.
1. What SKAM is
SKAM is an end-to-end encrypted messenger with a built-in wallet whose keys are kept only on your phone. This is a test version: features may change and errors may occur. By installing and using SKAM you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.
The operator permits you to install and use the app for lawful purposes. This permission does not give you any rights to the app, its name or its design.
2. Who may use SKAM
SKAM is intended only for people aged 18 or over. If you use SKAM on behalf of an organisation, you must be authorised to do so. You may not use SKAM in breach of sanctions or export restrictions.
3. Account and recovery
- Your account is a pair of cryptographic keys created on your phone. There is no password and no sign-up on the server.
- Only the recovery phrase (24 words) brings the account back on another phone. Write it down and keep it apart from the phone. The wallet is restored with its own phrase.
- The operator does not keep your keys or phrases and cannot restore a lost account or wallet.
- You are responsible for actions you confirm with your account or wallet, to the extent the law allows.
- You can delete your account in the app: Settings → Security → Account management → Delete account. If the phone also holds a hidden account, it is deleted together with the regular one. Without the app, use the form on the website.
4. Your content and conduct
You keep the rights to what you send. You allow the service to process, store and deliver it as far as needed for the features you choose. Recipients can save what you send them. A profile photo visible to «Everyone» is available to anyone who finds you.
Do not use SKAM for:
- threats, harassment, fraud, impersonation or spam;
- malware, hacking or unauthorised access;
- unlawful trade or infringing the rights of others, including copyright;
- intimate material without the consent of the people shown;
- any sexual exploitation or abuse of children: child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion or trafficking. See the Child Safety Standards.
To report or block an account: open the chat, tap the person's name at the top and choose «Report» or «Block». You can also write to skammessenger@gmail.com. The operator reviews reports and may restrict an account or remove content it controls (names, profile photos, groups). The operator cannot read private encrypted conversations; you may attach screenshots to a report. Never send recovery phrases or passwords.
5. Wallet
5.1 What the wallet is. The SKAM wallet is self-custody software for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH, and USDT and USDC on Ethereum) and TRON (TRX, and USDT on TRON). Its keys are created and kept only on your phone, encrypted. The operator never has your keys or your funds and cannot move, freeze or recover them. The operator is not a bank, an exchange, a custodian, a payment institution or an investment adviser: SKAM does not buy or sell cryptocurrency, does not exchange it for money, does not lend it or pay any yield, and gives no investment, legal or tax advice. Your balance is not a deposit and is not insured.
5.2 Your wallet recovery phrase. The wallet has its own recovery phrase, separate from the account's. It is the only way to restore the wallet; it follows the common BIP-39 standard, so it also opens your funds in other compatible wallets. Write it down and keep it safe and private: anyone who has it controls all funds in the wallet. The operator will never ask for it. If you lose it and your phone, your funds are lost for good. If you make an encrypted backup file, you keep its password; it cannot be recovered either.
5.3 Transfers. Before you confirm, check the address, the network, the asset and the amount. Transfers recorded on a blockchain cannot be reversed or cancelled, and a transfer to a wrong address or an incompatible network is usually lost. Each network charges its own fee (on TRON, energy and bandwidth), shown before you confirm; the operator charges no fee of its own. Network congestion or outages can delay or prevent a transfer.
5.4 Prices and blockchain data. Balances and transactions are read from public blockchain services, and prices come from third-party data providers (see section 6). They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong; prices are shown for information only. Cryptocurrency prices are volatile, and you can lose value.
5.5 Tokens and their issuers. Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC are issued by third parties (Tether, Circle), who can freeze addresses, change their tokens' rules or stop redeeming them. The operator does not control, endorse or guarantee any asset, its value, liquidity or redemption.
5.6 Gifts. A gift sent in a chat is an ordinary blockchain transfer from your wallet to the address the recipient has published; it cannot be reversed. Turning on receiving gifts publishes a receiving address to your contacts.
5.7 Shared pots. Shared pots currently run only on the TRON Nile test network: their test tokens have no monetary value. The members and the number of approvals are fixed when a pot is created; each member keeps their own key, and the required number of members together can move the whole balance. Leaving a chat or deleting an account does not remove your rights in a pot.
5.8 External wallets. Connecting an external wallet (Trust Wallet, MetaMask and others) goes through WalletConnect. You review and confirm every operation in that wallet; its own terms apply, and the operator does not see or control it.
5.9 Your phone and scams. You are responsible for the security of your phone: keep a screen lock, install apps only from trusted sources and keep the system updated. Never share your phrases, codes or backup passwords and never enter them on websites or for people who ask for them, including anyone who claims to be SKAM support. The operator is not responsible for losses caused by a compromised phone, malware, phishing or a phrase you disclosed.
5.10 Lawful use. Use the wallet only lawfully. It may not be used for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, the proceeds of crime or to evade sanctions, nor for transactions with sanctioned persons or regions. You are responsible for your own tax and reporting obligations. The operator may restrict or remove wallet features where the law requires it.
5.11 Changes and availability. Supported networks, assets and features may change or be discontinued. With your recovery phrase you can always reach your funds in another compatible wallet, even if SKAM is no longer available.
5.12 Wallet risks and liability. Using digital assets carries risks you accept by using the wallet: price volatility, irreversible transfers, network failures, changes in technology or law, and errors in software of third parties. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for the loss or reduced value of digital assets; this does not exclude liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
6. Third-party services and components
SKAM works together with services and software that belong to other companies and authors. The operator of SKAM is not affiliated with them and is not responsible for their operation or their terms. By using them through SKAM you also accept their own terms and policies.
- External wallets (Trust Wallet, MetaMask and others) connect through the WalletConnect protocol and the infrastructure of Reown, Inc. (Reown terms). You confirm operations in the external wallet itself.
- Blockchains and data services (TronGrid, PublicNode, Blockstream, mempool.space, CoinGecko) are independent services. The wallet uses them to learn balances and prices and to send transactions. Their outages can delay or prevent an operation.
- Notifications arrive through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google).
- Software components of other authors (vodozemac, Trust Wallet Core, libsodium, SQLCipher, WebRTC and others) are used under their licences. The list and the licence texts are in Settings → About → Open-source licences. These terms do not limit your rights under those licences.
- Names and trademarks belong to their owners. Mentioning them does not imply partnership or endorsement.
7. Storage, availability and termination
- Attachments are kept on the server for about 24 hours and then deleted. Other retention periods are in the Privacy Policy. Do not use SKAM as your only archive.
- The service may be interrupted, updated or discontinued. We will give notice in advance where possible or required by law.
- You may stop using SKAM and delete your account at any time. Deletion does not erase blockchain records or copies already saved by recipients.
- The operator may restrict or block an account that breaks these terms or the law.
8. Liability
SKAM is provided «as is». The operator does not promise uninterrupted operation, perfect security or fitness for financial purposes. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or loss of data or funds caused by a lost recovery phrase, transfer mistakes, or outages of third-party services and blockchains. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be limited by law or liability that cannot be excluded.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Moldova. Please write to skammessenger@gmail.com first and we will try to resolve the matter. If that fails, disputes go to the courts of Chișinău. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protection of the law of your country of residence and the right to go to court where you live.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will announce material changes in the app. If you keep using SKAM after a change, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, stop using SKAM and delete your account.
